At Wonder Star School, we believe that learning should be engaging, enjoyable and rewarding for everyone, developing pupils to be lifelong learners.
Through high-quality teaching, we inspire pupils to learn and equip themselves with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to reach their full potential.
Our belief in an individualised approach to teaching and learning contributes to pupils becoming successful learners who make excellent progress.
Forest School is a long-term approach to education, for children, that maximises the benefits of learning in the outdoors.
Whilst its roots are planted firmly in our best understanding of the theory of how children learn, its practice puts the learner at the heart of their learning experience.
From this fundamental platform, Forest School offers children and young people the opportunity, over repeated visits, to engage with the rich natural diversity of the woodland environment to help build confidence, sensitivity, resilience and curiosity.
Wonder Star School is very close to beautiful and scenic places such as Rode Hall and Gardens, Astbury Mere Country Park and Congleton Park.
We also have a long-standing link with Rudyard Lake, and visit each week as part of the offered Curriculum, which links to our SMSC / British Values expectations.
Wonder Star School has a huge focus on mental wellbeing and being healthy so a lot of learners who join us, will be able to make fantastic memories and experiences from being outdoors with such inspirational places on our doorstep.
We also have impressive links with Hanley Town Football Club, Northwood Sports Centre, Apedale Country Park, Swimhub and the YMCA sports centre, with our links continuing to expand.
